from "The Gift," also Outtakes.
Classically trained, Ermesto has played roles from Shakespeare to
Martin Sherman and Richard Nelson on the New York stage for the
past 12 years; he is a graduate from City University New York–Hunter
College with a BA in Theater.
Shakespearean roles on stage have included Macduff, Don John,
Autolycus, Bottom and Caliban in "The Tempest" under the direction
of Ron Destro for the Oxford Shakespeare Company. As a member of
the former resident company Trickster Theatre at Exit Art,
Ernesto originated lead roles in productions of: "Distant Sex Part One
& Two," "Vortex," and "Last Night I Spent with You" under the direction
of legendary performance artist Papo Colo.
Transitioning to the film and television side of the business has been
his priority and main interest during the past couple of years. With
lead roles in SEVEN short films, he is on his way to becoming the
King of Shorts, a medium he has become enamored with. In the world
of commercials and print, he has had two leading spots in the
#TodoPosible 2015 National Campaign for Univision, Spanish and
English CDC #Reasons Video and Print National campaigns, a Sam
Ash Music 30-sec spot, an ITT TECH spot, a UHEALTH video and
print campaign, and a Shutterfly Holiday 2015 Print Campaign coming
Ernesto says that he has been blessed with incredible opportunities
to have studied with exceptionally gifted teachers: among them, the
late stage master Uta Hagen, the Broadway veteran and Tony winner
Betty Buckley, and a master of technique, Caymicheal Patten.
However, his heart belongs to his very first acting teacher and mentor,
Stanley Harrison, a graduate from Yale School of Drama under the
tutoring of Constance Welch.
Ernesto is originally from Cuba and is fluent in Spanish. He is looking
forward to working in any feature opposite Sean Penn and/or Cate
Blanchett under the sensible direction of Mr. Ang Lee. And his dream
of working with Jessica Lange will be coming true in the not so
distant future. Stay tuned for that!!
